Throughout the month of May, we held a webinar series called “Beat the Summer Slump.” As the name would suggest, the goal was to help people beat the business slump that happens in the summer.
It was a challenging course for a lot of people. It was fast-paced. I challenged them to stop waiting for opportunities to develop and get out there and start beating the bushes. We talked about funnels, marketing frameworks, and how to figure out what counted as business growth. We talked about things that people had never heard of.
And it rocked.
People snuck in even though they weren’t ready. They’re now trying to figure out how they’re going to handle the business they generated.
When I challenged people to shorten their sales cycles, some participants thought I was talking to somebody else. But they tried it anyway and, lo and behold, it turned out they didn’t have to spend four months hoping they’d find clients and customers.
Participants walked away being able to forecast money coming in rather than wondering where it would come from. Clients and customers popped out of the woodwork. New business models coalesced over a few weeks. They can see where to take their business over the next few quarters.
I’ve been watching what they’ve been up to and they’re growing their business faster than ever despite it being the summer. They’re making the slump the chump this year.
