You Can Never Step Into The Same River Twice
This video post discusses a popularization of an idea attributed to Heraclitus: "You could not step twice into the same river; for other waters are ever flowing on to you."
Most people's reflection on that statement has to do with the river, but the reality is also that we change from moment as the waters of time and experience flow over us.
There's more to it than that, though. So many times, we think of our lives as coming back to the same spot, especially when that spot is negative. (Ever notice that few people say "Yay! We're back here again!"?)
