As weird as this sounds, one of the best summers of my life was when I was fighting to stay alive. My doctor told me in June of 2005 that I either stop my business or I wouldn't be alive to see my wedding in August. It was the permission that I needed to set aside my responsibilities and to simply be and to rest and to slowly recover. That summer felt so indulgent. It's a shame that it took that sort of illness and warning from my doctor to see the light.
I've never forgotten the lesson that summer taught me so play is at the top of my list for this summer. Play is where my spirit is renewed and my soul is refreshed.

Sometimes we need to learn the hard way, don't we? Thanks for sharing your story and lesson, Bobbi!
