I Might Be On A Panel at SXSW - You Can Change "Might" to "Will"
This is going to be one part celebration and one part plea for help.
After attending SXSW last year, I made it a goal to be on a panel in 2010. And by goal, I meant something like "it would be really awesome and I'll see what I can do to make that happen." Before this morning, I had pretty much filed that goal off as "yeah, get real - try again in 2011."
This morning, Jonathan Fields let me know that he added me as a panelist to his panel called "Unbake Your Brain: How to Stay Cool, Calm & Creative."
(!!)
Okay, this is a big deal for me in ways that's hard to express because I'm sick today and can barely think straight. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow and will be able to explain it.
That's the celebration bit. It's time for the plea for help.
Panels at SXSW are chosen by popular vote. We need you to vote for us.
You don't have to attend SXSW to vote. You don't really have to do anything besides get a free signup and click a button.
But your vote means more than support for me and Jonathan. You're also showing the organizers of SXSW that conversations like ours are worth talking about. Sure, it's great that we're talking about the latest and greatest in interactive technology - but we also need to talk about how to stay healthy, creative, and sane, too.
Please vote for us by heading to the panel and clicking the "thumbs up" under the title. Thank you to everyone who has already voted and helped out - your support means a lot to both of us. If you haven't voted, please do so - voting ends tomorrow (Friday, September 4th), and it's possible that we might not make the cut. Your vote and voice matter. Voting is now closed.
I woke up sick, tired, and generally out for the count today, and excitement can only carry you so far. After I write this, I'm taking medicine and a long nap. No really - I will this time. :p
As always, thank you for your support and encouragement.
