How I Found My Entrepreneurial Community
In 2016 I got together with a group of entrepreneurs and leaders for a 3-day retreat to talk about business challenges. Going in, I only knew two of them. By the end of the weekend, after lots of tears and vulnerability, we all realized that we were dealing with similar challenges and ended up becoming good friends.
I’m the guy down there on the ground in front of several amazing people. Yes, I’m a dork.
One of the best things that came out of this was the fact that between retreats, we were able to build camaraderie by forming a private chat group and talking to each other on Zoom. This kind of support and community has helped each of us grow our businesses, make more money, hire great people, and avoid costly mistakes.
This kind of camaraderie is what we’re striving for in Productive Flourishing Academy. Members who didn’t know each other have formed private accountability groups, niche chat groups, and other fun activities that suit them best. They show up to calls to support each other while getting coached themselves and to be there for each other, good times and bad.
If you’re a heart-centered leader who wants to get better at leading your team, I hope you’ll join us for the Open House, April 19 – 23. Over the course of the week, you’ll get to spend time with and know more about Charlie Gilkey and Angela Wheeler, the founders of Productive Flourishing. You’ll also have the chance to join coaching sessions, participate in special events and, best of all, meet fellow heart-centric leaders like you. You can learn more, see the specific scheduled events, and register today over on the website.
PS: Even though I’m a huge fan of Zoom, I’m personally really hoping that we can all get together for a big group hug after we all get vaccinated… Portland, get ready!
