Empowerment Abounds
This June, we're continuing to host our 2nd Core Conversation Series – Extraordinary Women Change the World. In case you missed any posts, here is a brief wrap-up of the posts from the last two weeks, with an afterword by Angela Wheeler. Enjoy!
No One Gives You Power - Justine Musk doesn't pull any punches in this powerful piece on how we can empower each other. From the history of pink becoming feminine to the power of numbers, you'll leave this one with a fire in your heart.
Empowerment Begins With a Single Realization - Stacy Stone talks on our choices and how they are the key to stepping into our power. Choosing to learn what our own empowerment looks like is entirely in our hands.
The Mirror of Empowerment - Liz Dennery Sanders shares her story of shining the light on others and how it helped her to recognize her own strength and light. Focusing on the joy in helping others versus the accumulation of stuff, Liz opens up a beautiful dialogue on what connecting our own dots can do for others.
Start Where You're At - Maira Holzman shares the beauty of starting where you are at. After struggling to start writing her post on empowerment, she realized she had a beautiful lesson of simplicity to share.
Adversity Builds Soul Muscles - Barbara Stafford shares her experience facing adversity in the wild. She shares that the more challenges you face and conquer with integrity, the more character you develop. If you liked Cheryl Strayed's Wild, you'll love this.
Beside Every Valley There Grows A Peak - Elisa Doucette discusses the difference between feeling powerless and being empowered. She shares a story about how her grandfather showed her that often the things we feel are stripping away our power are merely obstacles and challenges in achieving a greater power.
Power Within You - A Letter to Jocelyn and Ella - Michael Van Osch, gives us a peek into something very dear: a letter to his young nieces about becoming empowered women. Fair warning, you may just cry over this touching letter.
Are You An Empowerment Miser? - Ericka Hines shares with us how she wrestles with that voice that wants to be miserly in supporting others' empowerment. Her rawness and honesty will challenge you to confront your own demons.
How Shopping Will Change the World - The ladies of {r}evolution apparel discuss how we can vote for empowerment every single day. A Team PF favorite, Kristen and Shannon combine style, brilliance, and reality all into one compelling product and philosophy.
Empowerment Abounds
This May and June we've been hosting our second Core Conversation here at PF. The focus of this series has been around women's empowerment. What has been amazing about this series has been seeing how women's empowerment is embraced by so many women and men, and in such different ways. This series really has morphed into empowerment for all. And, that's a damn good thing to get behind!
We have been blessed with so many amazing posts from women and men in different businesses, stages of life, and with very different life experiences. It's a beautiful mix. We continue to have wonderful conversations here on PF, as well as out there in the Twittershpere, on Facebook, through emails, phone calls, and in-person.
In the last couple of weeks we've heard from nine more contributors in this series. From tackling the inner demons that may push you towards being miserly with your support to supporting a younger generation of girls to fully be themselves to shining the light on others, we've heard many beautiful stories of empowerment and learned a lot along the way. And, there's still more to come. We have a couple of weeks left in this series and we will be hearing from some amazingly talented writers.
I hope you'll continue to extend the conversation with us. A couple of questions I'd like to leave you with:
Has there been a post in this series that has reached you in an important way? We'd love to hear from you and share your empowerment journey.
Is there a woman that has made a significant positive impact on your life? If so, let her know.
