August 2021 Planning Tips: Soak Up Summer While Making Progress On Your Goals
With this summer being a refreshing bright spot in the past year and a half of darkness, it’s possible you’ve been taking extra advantage of the sunnier days this season. Hopefully, this means that you’ve been using your time off with more long weekends out of town, or at least lounging inside in the A/C.
If you’ve been embracing the lightheartedness of the summer, we applaud you! Because look: anything and everything you can do to keep your burnout at bay is a win in our books. Taking breaks – both long and short ones – usually means that you’ll be back in action with more energy and enthusiasm to crush your best work and push those projects forward, which is also a win.
So if you’re looking to strike that balance between work and play while the days are still long, here are some ways that you can manage your workload:
Keep in mind the five projects rule. Start by thinking about what (no more than) five month-sized projects you aim to complete this month, then work down to the five projects for this week. Once you’ve done that, you can use the Monthly Momentum Planner and Weekly Momentum Planner to help you flesh out the rest of the month and week.
Having trouble finding just five projects? Try the project cagematch to see what you can realistically fit into your schedule while maintaining your
sanitywork/life balance. If you have really big goals and dreams (as one should), try chunking them down into manageable bits so you can keep progress on them while still having realistic expectations.
The most up-to-date version of the planner is inside the Momentum app -- try it now with a 30-day free trial. Or you can always download one of our free PDF planner pages here.
We would love to see you at our Monthly Momentum Call (MMC) every second Monday of the month. These free calls are fun and interactive, even if you just want to sit back and listen to what your fellow creators and business owners are going through. Check out the upcoming dates and register for this Zoom call, here.
