Ask Charlie: What’s Your Temporary Office Like?

A few people have asked me what my office set up is and how I'm settling into it. In case you missed the background story, I'm currently working from a furnished temporary apartment while the paperwork for our new home gets processed. (Good news, by the way: we're approved! Now it's just a waiting game.)

I had a hard time with this one, especially since the setup isn't great to me, but it's good enough to get the job done. It's better than many, many situations I've lived in in my life, but it's not home. It's hard to be excited about a way station, you know? And Cath is right - sometimes a less-than-ideal environment is just fine for your great work.

You'll also note the lack of guitars. That's been one of the hardest parts for me, as I'm now keenly aware of how much playing and singing are part of my centering and grounding activities. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and more aware, it seems.
