We had a Twitter party way back on April 21st. I wanted to follow-up to share what happened and say thanks to everyone who showed up.
What’s a Twitter Party?
Sometimes you do something that makes sense to you and realize that other people have no idea what you’re talking about. It turns out that I didn’t do a good enough job of explaining the Twitter Party before it happened.
Given that Living The Good Life was as much a community project as it was a commercial effort, it made sense to me that the Twitter Party should be about and support the community. I contacted some contributors and supporters to see if they’d contribute prizes, and they graciously agreed. I asked Jonathan Fields and Pam Slim to be the conversants for the conversational piece, and they graciously agreed, too.
The three of us jumped on the phone and had a great conversation about the strategies and challenges of living the good life, and the people who joined were able to hear via phone and participate via Twitter. We pulled some questions from the tweetstream, and Karl Staib had his hands full keeping up with the live conversation, the tweet stream, and giving away the prizes.
In other words, fun was had by all.
Here Are The Prizes We Gave Away
I recorded quick introductions for all but the Escape Community – sorry about that, Pam! I’m sharing those videos with you because they really are great products that I want you to know about.

Who Partied With Us?
I didn’t do as good of a job of capturing everyone who showed up as I would’ve liked and, by the time I initiated this wrap-up project, we couldn’t search by hashtag anymore and we missed a lot of people. If you showed up and we missed you, sorry! We could only pull up the people who used my twittername.

Join Us Next Time!
We had a blast doing this one and will probably do another one sometime in the next few months. Thank you to everyone who contributed and participated.
I hope you join us next time – we’ll do a better job of keeping you in the loop, and know you know what it’s about.
CHARLIE!! Love the video overviews you did for each of the prizes…and thank you so much for all the kind words! I watched with such a huge smile on my face 🙂
I’m honored to have my book featured among a host of other amazing prizes (and people) — huge congrats on Megan who won!
See you in a few short weeks! And keep rockin’ that awesome sweatshirt 🙂
Wow! Twitter party! That sounds really cool! This is the first time I heard of this word. I am not aware that everyone can do party in Twitter. I hope next time I’ll become one of the participants in your Twitter party.
I am late to the *after* party … ah well!
Thank you for such a lovely video review — it really lifted my afternoon! 😀
Even twitter party is new to me, the video reviews are so cute. I hope to join next time.
HOW did I miss this?! I try to tune in for all the fabulous stuff you do. I’ll be watching for “the next time” —- I have been exploring the changes (new to me) on your website and your videos, and I really love what you’re doing! Thank you for consciously teaching us as you learn yourself!!!!! You embody everything I respect in a great teacher, and even though you don’t know me except as a student in your classes and a commenter on your blog, your style makes me feel like I know you and that I am learning from a friend who I’m very comfortable with and who cares about my journey as well. – Thank you for all of it!
