Great quotes, and some new ones for me. “Be what you are. This is the first step toward becoming better than you are,” is probably my favorite, well at least for today! 🙂 Thanks!
Great quotes here, thanks, Charlie!
I love this quote from Father Thomas Merton. While it refers specifically to activism, I think it also applies to work of any sort… real wisdom!
“The rush and pressure of modern life are a form, perhaps the most common form, of its innate violence. To allow oneself to be carried away by a multitude of conflicting concerns, to surrender to too many projects, to want to help everyone in everything is to succumb to violence….
The frenzy of the activist neutralizes his work for peace. It destroys his own inner capacity for peace. It destroys the fruitfulness of his own work, because it kills the root of inner wisdom which makes work fruitful.”
Wonderful, inspiring quotes. Thank you!
A great list of quotes Charlie – exactly what the world needs right now, and me, too.

It’s interesting how some of the most brilliant and positive sayings come from cartoonists.
Thank you for the great quotes.

This is particularly powerful and needs to be used more and more.
Thanks for the post.
Hi Charlie
Came across from Jimi’s Sunday roundup where this post got a mention.
I haven’t used quotes on my blog but have seem them used to good effect on other people’s posts.
Good way to introduce a topic if I can find one to suit my small niche blog.
Thanks for sharing them Charlie.

Charlie,
This is a great list of quotes and I want you to know how much I appreciate this post. I am actually a fan of great quotes.
I wonder if it would be possible for you to write a few posts, every now and then, exclusively devoted to such great quotes.
Great quotes should be read daily and it is helpful to have such quotes hanging from your wall or tacked on to your fridge and so on.
I think such quotes inspire us to dust ourselves off whenever we fall down and get back in the game.
If you feel like crying or you feel low, such quotes put a smile on your face.
Thanks for sharing with all of us. Cheers.
Thank you!
