The World Will Always Begin At Your Feet

Once you’re there, you’ll have what you need.
You’ll do great things and change the world.
But now, you’re so small and powerless.
At least that’s how it seems.

No matter where you are or how far you’ve traveled,
the world will always begin at your feet.
You’ll have whatever you’ll have.
You’ll need whatever you’ll need.

The question to ask is not “What will I be able to do once I’m there?”;
It is, instead, “What am I able to do from here?”
Once you’re there, you’ll have to ask yourself that same question -
so why not get used to answering it now?

This small post is big on goodness. And wisdom. And the kind of presence that rings me like a bell head to toe.

I totally needed this today. So thanks for doing what you do. But mainly thanks for being you.

“What am I able to do from here?”

That’s the perfect question.

Excellent post!

Now that we’ve been swapping quotes and having fun – here is one of my more fav ones:

Wow Charlie, that’s lovely. Such a powerful question to couple with my new mantra as of three days ago: Everything I’m Doing Is Enough.

Thank you for this today!

I really want to comment and express how grateful I am for this post and how much it hit home at exactly the right time in exactly the right way, but I don’t have all the right words to do so.

So, instead, I’ll just say… Thank you. (And: You rock.)

Great post. It is so easy to get ahead of yourself and forget that the most important thing is right in front of you at this exact moment. I think once we are able to not be distracted by thoughts of the past and the future and really focus on putting all we have into the current moment, we have figured out one of the most important formulas in life. Thanks for the wisdom.

I’m with Pam – chills.

And a very timely reminder that I’m only where I am and I don’t need to be anywhere else and where I am is the perfect place to start walking forward, one little step at a time.

Beautiful.
