About Fiona Dawson:
Fiona Dawson is director of the Emmy®-nominated New York Times short opinion documentary, “Transgender, at War and in Love.” In 2012 she created the media project “TransMilitary,” in order to elevate stories of active duty, American, transgender service members who were risking discharge due to outdated and discriminatory policies. In November 2015 she was honored by The White House for her work as an LGBT Artist Champion of Change and June 2016 Secretary of Defense Ash Carter, lifted the ban upon transgender troops serving.
