At the Crossroads of January and June
New Year’s is the time when we all dream about what the future year will bring. We daydream about our hopes and envision how we can make progress on them in the following months.
Six months have already gone by, and you may be feeling any number of emotions–frustration, confusion, dismay–because things haven’t gone according to plan.
Think back to your childhood years. Chances are, you were young when you learned some of life’s important lessons: things don’t always go our way, and we don’t always get what we want. Along the way, you perhaps picked up another life lesson: no matter how much planning we do, things can still go sideways.
Zoom forward to today. Whether you’re a new or a more seasoned Creative Giant, you’ve probably learned that there are upsides to displacement, and that if you’re planning effectively, you’ll always be changing your plans. These are the most important life lessons of all, because it’s not important how things go wrong in life, but how you bounce back and flourish.
June, like January, is a prime time to pause and look at the past, present, and future. Naturally, it’s much easier to foresee what you’ll need to accomplish in October when you’re planning in June rather than January; use this clarity to review the benefit of your current projects and their role in the grand scheme of where you want to go.
Like the moment you decided you didn’t care about baseball cards, dolls, pop idols, or cartoons anymore, now might be the time you decide that what you’re currently pursuing no longer matters to you. Letting go of something you’ve spent the last several months building isn’t easy, but you don’t want something that doesn’t matter now to displace something that does.
Pick up your 2016 Momentum Planners at 1/2 price today and (re)start finishing what matters.
It’s Time to Do A Business Review, Too
If you’re an entrepreneur or small business owner, now is a really good time to check in with how your business is doing. Many businesses have seasonal shifts at exactly the same time that you might want to be going on vacay or hanging out with friends by a fire until the wee hours of a summer morning.
Additionally, too many people realize too late that they have to start working on things their customers need well before their customers need it. And that November comes a lot earlier than you think it will.
Our Guided Business Review will help you do a full-spectrum review of your business progress. Do that review before you start your planning you’re making sure to not just do things right, but to make sure you’re doing the right things right. Check out the Guided Business Review here.
A Quick Update on the 2017 Planners
We’re getting some questions about when the 2017 Momentum Planners will be available. Rest assured we’re hard at work on those and plan to release them in August or September. In the meantime, check out our new planning page to get into the planning mindset.
