WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT OFFERING THE ACTION PLANNERS – CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT OUR NEW MOMENTUM PLANNERS
The 2014 version of our premium planners are now available for purchase. I know many of you have been eagerly awaiting to put pencil to paper and plan out Q1 2014. Before you rush to download, please take a minute to read through the updates below.
First off, just like last year, the rest of 2013’s planners come with your purchase of the 2014 planners.
We get tons of feedback and requests on our planners. They’re meant to be flexible and versatile at the same time they offer structure and organization. With that said, we are constantly striving to provide you the best, most valuable resources possible to flourish in business and life.
Rather than continue to tweak the current planners we have – we’ve been tweaking for years now – we’re devoting more attention to a) finding printing sources that will produce them cheaply enough to offer print versions and b) creating more aids out of the ideas I have just laying around and have been using with clients and students for years. After much consideration, we’ve put off creating an app because the majority of the feedback we get about them goes along the lines of people experiencing that they plan better and are more productive using paper versions. I have a lot of thoughts about why this is and it’s something I’ve been exploring since 2007, and finally more research is coming out about the different ways we use our brains when writing vs. typing.
Here’s what one of our recent planner customers had to say about the Premium Planners making her life and work easier:
“I started following Productive Flourishing years ago and tried out the free planners a time or two. Recently when I became overwhelmed at work, I decided it was time to purchase the Premium Planners. Rather than constantly trying to figure out a structure to keep myself organized, I finally realized that someone has already figured out the structure! Charlie provides the structure for me to be super-effective, organized, creative, and pro-active. All I have to do is show up and do the work.
I’ve found the blog planners incredibly valuable. Now that I’m using the planners, I’m finding and scheduling content much easier. Before using the planners, I was struggling to source and find content. With the planners I feel freer to explore. I expected the planners to help me get more organized. I didn’t expect the planners to help me feel more creative as well.
The planners force me to prioritize and pick what I’m going to focus on. Because I can schedule out for the month, it’s also given my bosses more realistic time-frames on when projects will be delivered. That’s sanity saving for all of us!
If you’re thinking of buying the planners, my advice is to do it. You really can start to think longer-term knowing that you have them all there and ready. You can buy the entire year’s worth of planners for the cost of five cups of coffee. It’s just $2 per month!”
They’re Still Fillable
For those of you who were unaware, the great thing about the planners is that they’re fillable, saveable and/or printable. Whatever floats your planning boat. I like to print things out and write things down – there’s something about planning on physical paper that’s powerful.
You could also plan on paper, input the plan, save it, and then print out a pretty working copy. That way you have the plan saved on the computer and in physical form to reference when you’re at the office.
We encourage you to experiment with fillable vs. printed and see which is a more effective process for you.
What we’re still working on – and are much closer to providing than in the past – is printed versions of our planners. Printing costs have come down and we’ve contacted a publishing partner and hope to work with this partner in the coming months to create a Productive Flourishing-inspired physical planner to meet your desires for an actual daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly planner in its original glory. Maybe we’ll even let you personalize the color.
Take More Meaningful Action
At the foundation, planning is the most important thing you can do in your business and life to ensure success without overwhelm. While we love to lead courses on sales, coach clients on systems and teach marketing principles, planning, in all its simplicity AND complexity, is truly what makes the difference between taking any action at all and taking meaningful action to get stuff done that matters to both you and others in the world.
For a long time, I’ve disliked using the word ‘productivity’ because the conversation about productivity went down roads that didn’t resonate with the real, relevant, and difference-making conversation I wanted to have about finishing the stuff that matters. I didn’t want people to be disappointed that when they were expecting easy tips and hacks that they could read in 67 seconds and move on rather than a conversation that made them stop and think about why they’re doing what they’re doing, what was on their list in the first place, and reminders and swift kicks to help ensure that they’re doing the best work they can do in the world. It’s not that there’s no place for easy tips and hacks – I’ve shared plenty in my time and will continue to do so in the future – but my belief and experience is that a list of tips will never be as valuable as a set of tools and frames that allow you to get yourself into and out of any creative situation you find yourself in.
These planners are a crystallization of the principles of goal-setting, planning, and follow-through that address the nature of creative work. As I mentioned above, we are building more tools and ways to get them to you that’s better than what we have done. My intention is that these planners help you way beyond just crossing more items off your to-do list; my real wish is that by using the planners when and how you need them, you’re able to do more of what matters.
We hope you’re as excited as we are to dig into 2014 with the Premium Planners. The thought of a new year becomes a little less daunting when you know you’ve got all the tools necessary to make it epic.
More Content on Productivity, Planning, and Goal-Setting Coming Soon
In the upcoming months, we’ll be creating much more content on productivity, planning, and goal-setting than we have in a long time. For a while, I assumed that there was enough information “out there” and, while the interest in these topics in general has decreased some, you all have let me know that you’re interested in hearing about them from me. And you all know me well enough – if you tell me you like something and want more, we get in the lab and start making it.
The hardest thing I’ll likely write about is planning principles that work for creatives. It’s also the thing that’s the most native to me – I can’t see it most of the time because it’s like looking at the air between what you see. You know it’s there, but you don’t observe it that often.
The planners will augment the conversations because there’s so much of the wheel that I’m not going to recreate. It’s just high time that we talk about the other components of the vehicle, how they relate to each other, and, fundamentally, how their use will help you do more of what matters.
