"Life coach" can be pretentious, but it does roll off the tongue better than some alternatives. But "project and creativity coach" definitely sounds more actionable. I spend time every day working with my clients helping them do what needs to get done. I’m there to help them celebrate their victories and work through their setbacks. If I see that they’re falling, I grab their arm and keep them upright. And, depending on the client and our rapport, I put on the boots and start kicking. @JoVE: Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping that it wasn’t longer than it needed to be, but I thought it important to explain what I do by comparisons to what people already know.

@Duff: My main worry about “life’s purpose” stuff is that often times it’s so detached from the reality of what people are doing or want to be doing. So if someone says “I want to help people,” that gives me some traction. If someone says “I like doing this,” then I can help. Whether those things translate to someone’s life purpose eludes me and it will be something they’ll have to determine.

That makes a lot of sense. A project coach is a very specific niche.

Funny that you said “I’m also not very good at helping people find their life’s purpose” because that’s something I felt like I was very good at when I was a Life Coach, and helping clients implement things was NOT my strength. But alas, now I do this Core Transformation thingy, which also needs a catchy new title and an elevator pitch.

I've been thinking I need to hire someone to balance out my big picture thing with some detail orientation before I drive myself nuts and it occurred to me that you might be the person.
