Enjoyable article, full of insights.

On the assessment methodology, I have found that by changing my thinking from either/or to and, I have been able to get the benefits of both nifty organizational applications and your excellent paper planners.

The apps slow one down because they have to be opened up and the nested notes found. On the other hand, they allow for an infinite amount of data to be stored.

Alternatively, the paper planner allows one to get on task at a glance, but they don't allow for much space to expand.

By using both, the paper planners for quick guides and the apps for storing data, one can enjoy the advantages of both and cancel out their inherent disadvantages.

There is a certain element of redundancy, but, overall, it works rather well.

You hit some really important points here. I've personally have struggled with for many years. The most important aspect I had overlooked was Assessment and raising the bar too high, as a result I killed my momentum and progress. The last month I realized the importance of starting off small and building on to it.

Btw... Your planners are amazing, my productivity and creativity has increased with the use of the blogger and premium action planner...thank you!!

Mastery of something starts from simple habit. You have to have consistency and persistence. You eliminate the "work" part of it when it becomes part of your system, which reduces effort by at least 50%. Establishing A Habit Of Productivity is the ONLY way to become Consistently Productive ;-)

I agree with you about the importance of achievable goals, especially as part of cultivating integrity in your relationship with yourself.

At the same time, I find intermittent habits the absolute hardest for me to keep! With a daily habit, I can use autopilot as my ally really effectively. I also seem to get a boost from the fact that my really deeply ingrained habits (brushing my teeth, say) are all daily habits, and so perhaps they're something I know how to do well.

Writing it on my calendar helps me overcome the awareness problem, and maybe the ultimate solution is just to commit to my own stuff on my calendar as thoroughly as I do other people's stuff, but right now, it's still a challenge for me!

<blockquote>And, even worse, I never see notes no matter where I post them.</blockqoute>

Do you have too many notes posted already? If so, any additional note is just increased noise.

No, you're not the only one. ;p

Thanks for the feedback about your increased productivity, too. It's nice to know sharing is making a difference for people.

I had to laugh at number 2, because I'm so changeable and can easily forget a new goal from one day to the next. And, even worse, I never see notes no matter where I post them. Consistency is so tough for me! Some of us are like the wind. But no excuses!
