Teleclass: How To Plan To Do Great Work Sustainably
Michael Bungay-Stanier and I recently hopped on the phone and started chatting about great work. Both of us had been scratching at a similar itch: how do you do great work sustainably?
Great work requires you to stick with your work and to plan on sticking with it in the future. When people plan, though, they tend to only look from the two perspectives of yearly, big picture planning and daily, little picture planning. What normally results is a mismatch between what they’re doing day-to-day and the impact they want to be making on the world.
We’ve noticed that what makes the real difference, though, is being able to get the 90- to 270-day planning right – that’s how you mate up the small actions to get the big effects. The sustainability piece follows that because you can do your things more consistently, patiently, and slowly without feeling like you have to do everything Right.Now!.
Easier said than done, right? Well, yes. But we’re going to spend the hour talking about the strategies, frameworks, and techniques we’ve used to help ourselves and others get that critical middle level of planning done.
This is a free teleclass with no pitch for a big program or product. We will, however, reference our own great work to provide examples and resources. Here are the details:
