There may be some changes going on around here and I just wanted to give you a heads up about what’s going on.
Here’s the backdrop: ostensibly, this blog is about productivity and productivity for creative people. That’ll always be the core of PF.
But I’m starting to want to write more, some of which will only be tangentially related to that core conversation. The three things that come to mind are the principles of the New Economy, creative entreprenuerialism, and explorations into the new social realities created by the Internet.
And I really, really don’t want to start another blog. I’d rather just keep this as my hub for sharing ideas with you, whether or not they’re related to the core conversation.
It’s not just about topics, though – it’s about approach, too. My last post signaled how I’d like things to change, and I’d like to carry it out, at least for a little while. That’s going to mean more shorter posts that carry on conversations, some of which you may not be interested in, others which you may find fascinating. And you’ll probably see more names popping up, as I’d like to reconnect with the idea it’s the people that are the forefront, not the content or the ideas.
You may see a change in posting frequencies, new topics popping up, and more posts about books I’m reading and programs that I think may help people. All in all, you may see more posts as I play with the idea that it’s okay if this blog is about more than the core conversation that I’ve tried to keep it limited to. I’m not committing to any of this (as if the many “mays” didn’t give that away), but I’m just opening up the possibilities.
We’ll see where things go. I appreciate you hanging out with me and joining the conversation.

Charlie,
sounds great – I am looking forward to your next posts!

Sounds good. Though creative entrepreneurialism is kind of your core thing. And the other two topics listed are not far… So I don’t think it is straying that far from your core thing. More like not making it all about tips and tricks and more about understanding productivity for creatives in its larger social/technical context.

Charlie, it’s OK to change things up and experiment. It’s what growth is all about. I only discovered your blog within the last few days so it won’t be a change for me.
Good luck!

That sounds great, and like JoVE wrote, your new direction seems very connected with your core. Looking forward to some great reads!

The new direction (-ish) stuff sounds great, and I love that you’re being true to the concept of blogs as conversations by talking directly to us about this.

Thanks for the heads-up Charlie. It’s gonna take a lot more to shake me off your blog. Yay for expansion and growth – it’s a good place to be.
