I've been following some of the Tim Ferriss criticism recently and this is on the 'ok, but doesn't really get it' side. It's certainly more positive than a certain blogger's emotional and personal attack...

Charlie says, "Work, in itself, isn’t something you should hate. " I think we all agree, but the kicker is, a whole lot of people out there do jobs they, wait for it... really hate.

Tim's advice is much more useful: Work out how much cash you need for your lifestyle and try to earn it with as little time investment as possible. With the free time do something rewarding, enriching, educational, caring, or whatever does it for you. Become a better person. Enjoy life. Relax more. Work out what makes you tick.

I agree with Tim when he says work is stuff you *have to do* to pay the bills. In general, the less time doing that the better in my opinion. If you're already getting paid to be creative I don't think he's really talking to you. You're already half way there.

Bob Proctor says that "Work is not something you should do for money. Work is something you should do for love." I agree and I think it fits in with what you are trying to say here. Tim framed things the way he did because he knew it would have the effect it did. It was brilliant, but it does mislead people.
