		<description>A thoughtful post and good discussion here. 

It is truly a failure to see the individuals, the kids, the moms, I mean, really see their faces - that makes us push this issue aside. 

I love the English poet John Donnes famous line:

&quot;Any man&#039;s death diminishes me...&quot;

I think the answer is in educating people about poverty, but it needs to start early. College is too late. High school is too late. Middle school is too late. 

I developed a global education curriculum that was used in California and Nevada private schools in the early 1990s. Yes, private schools. There wasn&#039;t a single public school district that would go near it. 

Children have a way of seeing the world the way it should be seen. As a former teacher and school principal, I ask, how can we get this stuff into our schools?

My Blog Action Day post is the story of Abadou, a one-year-old boy wjsoe life was saved by World Vision doctors in the desert of Mali. Another child. Another face.
