I find that the biggest difference is that I have a vastly reduced attention span, as you mentioned from instant everything. We’ve become a people losing our ability to focus.

I remember being fascinated by having words open literally a whole new world with every click, now it is just so much that I also find myself skimming everything.

It’s a miracle that I read your whole article :0)

I was an avid ready and found myself unable to read a whole book cover to cover until recently I started to begin the day with a set time to sit down and read, highlight and take notes.

Just like old times.

This is great! I was just thinking of the ones and zeros today.

The internet can make us tools. Just remember that the Wall Street Journal is online, as well as many other great newspapers and magazines. You just have to know where to look and what to read.

The internet can indeed, “make you stupid.” I had the unfortunate displeasure of stumbling upon justin.tv where I witness first hand, the degeneration of America’s youth.

I would argue that the internet really causes people, especially kids to become, “socially stupid.”

I like the point you make about going outside. In my old apartment, I felt like I was literally living in a box with my computer. I've bought a house where I can walk to work everyday, sit out on the porch, walk across the street to the park and creek, etc. It makes a huge difference.
